CDA Community,

We will use this platform to house communications since March 10, 2020, when the Covid-19 / coronavirus health crisis started to affect our day-to-day operations. Make sure to check the district’s website for more up-to-date information. If you are not receiving their communications by phone or email, please email me so that we can check your contact information in our student data system.

Stay well and together we will get through this crisis. Thanks.

Dear CDA Community,

We are incredibly grateful for the continued collaboration among our stakeholders, which affords our students a wealth of learning opportunities. Thanks to everyone for their commitment to the work we call remote learning. We look forward to closing out the year positively. Please know that we are here as always if you need anything. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or me.

Below are the latest updates.

Fifth Grader Virtual Culmination

Our fifth graders are pioneering our first ever virtual culmination, the details for which can be found here. Zoom invites for each class will be emailed this week. Please make sure that you send to your child’s room parent or teacher the media releases that we emailed. Thanks.

Materials Return and Yearbook/Materials Distribution

We will be setting up a schedule the weeks of June 8th  and June 15th to collect devices, library books, and textbooks. We will also be distributing yearbooks and in some cases school materials. Please keep your eyes out for the schedule. It will be important to adhere to your assigned time to ensure social distancing and safety measures. Families who wish to keep their devices for summer learning can communicate that directly to their teachers or me. Thanks.

Coffee and Tea with the Principal and Summer School/Learning

This Monday, 08:00 AM, and Wednesday, 03:45 PM, we will be showcasing the many opportunities for summer learning through our district’s first ever virtual summer school, details for which are on the attached flyer. Families can apply here. I will also share the summer menus that our teachers create every year for families so that their children can engage in meaningful experiences to maintain and strengthen all that they have learned. Please join me at one of the meetings, as these will be our last for this school year. I look forward to seeing you. Meeting invites were emailed.

Enrollment and What to Expect for Next School Year

The district will be launching is remote enrollment site, which will go live tomorrow. Families can continue to email me with questions and find information on our website, which I have updated to reflect these new procedures. I have also attached a job aide which will help with the new process. Thanks to all of our families who have successfully enrolled through our main office. We are answering phones during our office hours, which can be found on our website’s calendar. We are still waiting to hear how we will engage in learning in the new school year, so please continue to review our communications, archived here, and the district’s update page. Superintendent Beutner shares updates each Monday. We will make sure you know what to expect as soon as we are able. We will mail out letters over the summer announcing class assignments and welcoming you back for the start of school on August 18th. Report cards will also be sent home through US mail, so please make sure your address is current. Thanks.

If you are unable to join us for Coffee and Tea, we will have a morning assembly on Tuesday, June 2, at 08:00 AM. Have a wonderful week everyone. Thanks.
