CDA Community,

We will use this platform to house communications since March 10, 2020, when the Covid-19 / coronavirus health crisis started to affect our day-to-day operations. Make sure to check the district’s website for more up-to-date information. If you are not receiving their communications by phone or email, please email me so that we can check your contact information in our student data system.

Stay well and together we will get through this crisis. Thanks.

Dear CDA Community,

Thanks for your continued engagement. I have attached our May / June newsletter. In it I share remote summer school opportunities for all students, details for which can be found on the attached flyer. More information and applications can be found here. Below are other updates. Feel free to reach out to me or your child(ren)’s teachers with questions.

Enrollment for 2020-2021

The attached newsletter shows our teaching assignments for next year. We will be sending out letters to families in grades 1-5 welcoming you back and announcing class assignments. You do not need to re-enroll, unless you have a permit to renew. Schools for Advanced Studies (SAS) permits renew automatically. If you are not returning for next year, please let us know if you have not already. We will miss you!

We are able to enroll new students to our school remotely. Please spread the word! Enrollment is done through me, so families can email me directly. There is also information on our website. We can also answer questions by phone during our office hours, times posted on our website’s calendar.

Staying Engaged through Remote Learning

We are so proud of our community for navigating these new waters, the ones we call remote learning. We understand that everyone’s situation is different. Given that we do not know what learning will look like for next year, it’s important that we work together to ensure that our students stay connected to their classrooms. With 14 days of school left, let’s make sure that we check on the progress our students are making and how they are doing with their remote classrooms. We are here as always to support in whatever way we are able. Thanks.

Jogathon and Staying Fit

Thanks to all of our families for their support of our annual Jogathon, this year executed virtually. It has been really fun watching all of the ways our students are staying fit.

One of our families has created a 7 day challenge which is only 11 minutes long per day. It’s free opportunity for fitness and could supplement our PE classes. There’s no equipment needed, and it’s for all levels. Details can be found here.

Devices and School Materials

We will be setting up a schedule to collect devices, library books and other school materials. We will do our best to have it coincide with yearbook distribution. If you would like to return anything earlier, please email. We do have office hours, as mentioned above.

Fifth Grade Culmination

An email regarding our plan and structure for our virtual culmination for our fifth graders was emailed to fifth grade families on Wednesday. Culmination will be on June 5th. There is also information on our website. If you did not receive the email, please email me. Thanks.

Have a wonderful long weekend. Links for our morning assembly, Tuesday only, and our SSC/ELAC meeting were emailed. Thanks.

Tuesday Morning Assembly: May 26 (8:00 AM)
SSC / ELAC Meeting, May 27 (3:30 PM)
