A message from COEUR D ALENE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Good afternoon CDA Community,

The safety of students is my top priority. We understand that recently, an unknown community person was indecently exposed inside of his car in the vicinity of Grand View Elementary School. This incident has been reported to local law enforcement. We wanted to share some general safety tips with the school community. When talking to your child about safety, you may wish to share.

  • Parents should know their students’ schedules and routes to and from school each day.
  • Parents and students should maintain good communication about pick-up/drop-off times and locations.
  • Parents can review safety measures if a stranger approaches their student, such as reminding the student not to take a ride with or walk with a stranger. If a stranger approaches or attempts to get the child into a vehicle, the child should scream and run for help.
  • Students should report safety concerns or threats to a school staff member if at school or to their parent/guardian or other trusted adult when outside of school.
  • In the case of an immediate emergency or threat, at the earliest possible opportunity, call 9-1-1.

Safety remains our top priority and we thank you for your collaboration. As a reminder, students should report school safety issues, including unresolved problems or threats, to a school staff member. If you have any questions, please call me at (310) 321-7813.

Sincerely,

Principal Grasso
