Greetings CDA Family,

I spent the last few days thinking about the things I love about Coeur d’ Alene Elementary School. I would love to share these thoughts with you this week.

What I Love About Coeur d’Alene

  • Coeur d’Alene students represent us so well. They work hard in the classroom and are respectful to one another.
  • Coeur d’ Alene teachers provide the most effective instruction in the classrooms.
  • The Coeur d’ Alene staff, from the teacher assistants, to the cafeteria staff, to the custodial staff, to the front office, believe that they are an important part of our team. They care about all students and show them love and compassion every day.
  • We believe in continuous progress for all. Our student DIBELS, Edulastic, and Interim Assessment data shows marked improvements from the beginning of the year to the middle of the year.  We are excited about meeting our end of the year data goals.
  • The Coeur d’ Alene Booster Club is the best!  Please see their amazing efforts to fund critical staff and programs for our students – click here
  • The parents of the students at Coeur d’ Alene are supportive and advocate for their children. We couldn’t do what we do without you. Thank you for being a crucial member of our team.
  • Coeur d’ Alene is a happy and safe place to be.
  • I JUST LOVE Coeur d’ Alene.

As we prepare to go into the last reporting period, we are excited about finishing the year strong. We are looking forward to our in-person Open House on April 7th to showcase current student work and our end of the year testing starting on April 26th.

Positive Behavior Expectations

Please reinforce our School Wide Positive Behavior Expectations by reviewing this document  with your child on a regular basis.  This week, I am highlighting the expectation that students will treat each other with respect. They will not call each other names, curse, or use put-downs.  This quote from Anne Frank, a very important woman in history, drives home the point:  “In the long run, the sharpest weapon of all is a kind and gentle spirit.”  Let’s continue to be kind, respectful, safe, and responsible for each other.
