CDA Community,

We will use this platform to house communications since March 10, 2020, when the Covid-19 / coronavirus health crisis started to affect our day-to-day operations. Make sure to check the district’s website for more up-to-date information. If you are not receiving their communications by phone or email, please email me so that we can check your contact information in our student data system.

Stay well and together we will get through this crisis. Thanks.

Dear CDA Families,

Happy Thursday! We wanted to let everyone know that the district’s COVID testing team is here today to administer their biweekly testing of all students and staff. Many families have already checked to ensure that they have consent in place for their children to be tested on site. If we do not have your consent in place, your child will not be tested. It will be your responsibility to ensure that test results are uploaded to the Daily Pass site every 8 to 14 days or to go to a district testing site during the same time period, 8-14 days. If you would like to provide consent, you will need to come to the school to facilitate that. You can check with me to see if consent is in place.

I want to thank our families whose children are participating in the care program for adhering to our drop off and pick up times. We are one of a few schools that I’ve heard of so far that are allowing multiple drop off and pick up times. Unfortunately, except in instances that are pre-arranged, we cannot rely on our office staff to facilitate students being dropped off or dismissed from care programs. Please use the schedules below when dropping off or picking up your children.

Childcare Drop Off Times and Locations
08:15 AM: Garfield Gate (New Time)
09:30 AM: Garfield Gate
10:30 AM: Main Gate (Coeur d’Alene Avenue)

Childcare Pick Up Times and Locations
01:30 PM: Main Gate (Coeur d’Alene Avenue)
02:30 PM: Garfield Gate
03:30 PM: Main Gate (Coeur d’Alene Avenue)
04:00 PM: Parking Lot Gate (Kickball Court Gate)

Additionally, if there are concerns with instruction or operations, please reach out to Mrs. Greene ([email protected]), our assistant principal, before reaching out to me. She will respond to any questions and concerns as soon as she is able. If she’s not able to address the concern, she will connect with me. She and I meet frequently so that she can keep me up-to-date on matters that are being handled on her end.

Finally, many of our older students are using their own personal cell phones to generate their Daily Pass, which is perfectly acceptable. Please remind your children, though, that we do not allow use of cell phones while they are on site. It has come to our attention that some students are using their cell phones for reasons that are not school appropriate. Cell phones can be used when they leave school and on site only in the case of an emergency, which to date we have not had. Children are able to use their personal devices, laptops and iPads, or school issued devices for asynchronous work. If you have any concerns about screen use during care, please reach out to Steve ([email protected]) or José ([email protected]), and they will address them. If you feel your concerns and not being adequately addressed, you can reach out to Mrs. Greene.

Thanks for all that you do!
