CDA Community,

We will use this platform to house communications since March 10, 2020, when the Covid-19 / coronavirus health crisis started to affect our day-to-day operations. Make sure to check the district’s website for more up-to-date information. If you are not receiving their communications by phone or email, please email me so that we can check your contact information in our student data system.

Stay well and together we will get through this crisis. Thanks.

Good Afternoon Coeur D’Alene Families,

I just completed emailing all families with our students’ cohort and teacher assignments for our transition to hybrid, in person instruction with online options starting the week of April 19. Please read the email thoroughly as there are important updates. If you did not receive the email, first check your clutter. You can email Mrs. Green ([email protected]) or me if you have any questions, but assignments are final. This was a painstaking process, and we tried very hard to honor as many requests as possible and to keep students with their current teachers. Because of the overwhelming interest in hybrid, in person instruction, though, and the limits we have on the number of students each classroom can accommodate because of social distancing guidelines we have to follow, some changes were inevitable. Please know that it’s eight weeks, and it will go by quickly. The students are going to have a great time no matter who their teacher is!

Unfortunately, details on childcare are still forthcoming, and I have recommended that only families who absolutely need it state that preference. If you see in the email that you had requested care and don’t need it, just email Mrs. Greene, copying me. Also, if your child is returning for in-person instruction, please make sure to schedule your child’s COVID test within seven days of his/her start date and to use the Daily Pass as much as possible so that we can easily screen students as they come on campus.

Finally, tomorrow will be our last synchronous morning assembly. We are starting early so that at the end, I can share some updates for students who are returning for in-person instruction. Moving forward, I will record an assembly for students and families to watch when they are able. Reading my weekly updates is a great way to stay on top of what’s happening at our school. They are also archived on our website. This is also our last week of virtual story time. With students on campus from 08:00 AM to potentially 04:00 PM, I will not have the time to host students virtually. I will miss my regulars! We will celebrate our 25+ weeks of reading this week.

A more comprehensive update will be emailed by tomorrow. We look forward to an amazing last nine weeks of school! Thanks so much for your continued faith in and support of our work. We have grown so much together as a community this past year.
