Trash Free Tuesdays & Walk/Scoot/Skate/Ride your Bike to School Wednesdays
 
CdA’s Green Team is excited to be back at school and is ready to continue the fun, important work of the green team!  
 
We have a new Chairperson this year, Elizabeth Cash and she has a lot of great ideas for an amazing year. Elizabeth owns her own landscaping company, so we are so lucky to have her wealth of knowledge and experience as we beautify our school and make it as green as possible!
 
The Green Team will meet the 2nd Monday of each month, with our first meeting on September 12th at 2:35pm in the covered eating area. Please let us know if your child would like to participate in this committee by emailing Elizabeth Cash at [email protected].  Also, if you know other children who may be interested, let us know and we would love to have them on board!  Just a reminder, children in kinder or first grade will need a parent or older sibling to bring them to the meetings.   If any parents, grandparents, etc. want get involved in supporting the Green Team, please let Elizabeth know.
 
Throughout the year, we will continue to keep our campus clean and work towards becoming a trash free campus.  We hope to focus on the following:
  • picking up litter and throwing garbage away
  • recycling different items in the blue recycle bins around campus (and in the yellow bins at lunch and after school)
  • reducing waste by reusing items and using reusable containers

 

We would appreciate your help in educating your children about these simple, yet very important ways they can make a difference at their school and in the world!
